Wheys were always praised by experts because of their natural healing power. Whey as a curative medium were widely spreaded in those days. The scientist and docter Tissot (1779) said: "I dare to assert that whey is one of the greates medicines."
Basing his research on this statement of traditional medicine, the grand-grandfather of the current company leader developed a special process to make whey last longer.
With an unique process, whey could be changed into a lasting but still natural condition. This process was developed by the founder of the company. So the strong lactic acid sour whey-concentrate "Lactisol" was born, that contains besides 10% L (+) lactic acid all important substances of milk without fat and albumine. Original applicated as a medicine against foot-and-mouth disease (appearing only by animals), it was shown quickly, that other indication for human applications e. g. defence of influenza infections and other more, must follow.
That's how a traditional nature medicine was developed, that is today as modern as it was 80 years before.
Galactopharm 's products are for example liquid-concentrates, diatetic nutrition medical soaps, ointments and creams, natural cosmetics but also phytotherapeutics and sweets against coughing.
Galactopharm is now led by pharmacist Dr. rer. nat. Stephan Sanders, the 4th generation grandchild of the founder of the company.
